the effect of replacement of vegetable oils with fish oil on gonadal development and sex steroid hormones in female rainbow trout (oncorhynchus mykiss)

abstract
to study the effect of dietary animal and plant lipids on gonadal differents and sex steroid hormones levels of blood in rainbow trout (oncorhynchus mykiss), the four diets was formulated based on 15% fat. the control uses 100% oil, fish oil was treated in the first, second and third respectively 25% and 75% fish oil, soybean oil, canola and cotton were used. after six weeks of feeding fish with average weight 200±2.5 (g), ovarian tissue and sex steroid hormones levels of blood (testosterone, progesterone, 17β-estradiol) were evaluated. development of ovarian tissue as well as the hormones testosterone and 17β- estradiol in the first treatment was significantly greater than other treatments (p

Effect of Dietary Vegetable Oils on the Growth Performance and Fatty Acid Composition of Fingerlings of Rainbow Trout,Oncorhynchus mykiss
This study evaluated the suitability of canola and flaxseed oils as source of supplemental dietary lipid for fingerlings of rainbow trout. Triplicate groups of the 30 fingerlings were fed twice daily by iso-nitrogenous, and iso-calorific diets for 8 weeks. Experimental diets consisted of 30.2% protein, 18.6 kJ/g energy and 16.6% lipid from fish oil, canola oil, flaxseed oil, 1:1 blends of fish ...

Rainbow trout are classified as Oncorhynchus mykiss, and as such belong to the same genus as Pacific salmon, and to the family Salmonidae, which includes Atlantic salmon (Salmo salar), various trout (Salvelinus sp.), Arctic char (Salvelinus alpinus), Arctic grayling (Thymallus arcticus) and whitefish (Coregonus sp.). Rainbow trout are native to areas around the North Pacific Ocean, from souther...
full textReplacing dietary fish oil by vegetable oils has little effect on lipogenesis, lipid transport and tissue lipid uptake in rainbow trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss).
In order to investigate the effects of dietary lipid sources on mechanisms involved in lipid deposition, two groups of rainbow trout were fed from first-feeding to the commercial size of 1 kg (for 62 weeks) with two diets differing only by lipid source: 100% fish oil or 100% blend of vegetable oils (55% rapeseed oil, 30% palm oil, 15% linseed oil). The activities and levels of gene expression o...
full textInvestigation of somatic and gonadal growth of female rainbow trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss) reared in cage in the Caspian Sea
The aim of the present study is to investigate the growth performance and sexual maturation process of female rainbow trout reared in a cage in the Caspian Sea (Mazandaran- Nowshahr). Rainbow trout with an average weight of 122± 5 g were stocked into a cage located in Caspian Sea. Fish were fed daily and random sampling was done monthly (January 2015) to May 2016. Weight and length of thirty fi...
full textEffect of fish oil replacement by poultry waste oil in feeds on growth parameters, chemical composition and fatty acid profile of rainbow trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss)
The present study aimed to investigate the effects of dietary fish oil replacement by poultry fat on growth performance and fillet quality, Oncorhynchus mykiss. Three diets were used in this experiment, containing different percentages of poultry fat (0% (D1), 50% (D2) and 100% (D3) replacement with fish oil. The fish were reared as three treatments; the fish fed D1 diet; the fish fed D2 diet; ...
full textEffect of replacement of fish oil with different plant oils in Oncorhynchus mykiss broodstocks diets on egg and larval antioxidant defense development
This study was undertaken to investigate the effects of feeding rainbow trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss) broodstocks with different ratio of plant oils to evaluate the changes in antioxidant defense status in the progenies. In the experimental diets, fish oil was replaced with different combination of plant oils including corn oil, olive oil, sunflower oil, and coconut oil, to gain differen...
